Dyad 2026 Goals
Here's a non-exhaustive list of goals for Dyad in 2026.
Note: these goals are aspirational and timelines could shift!
Short-term goals (January)
- Revamped Agent mode - our current agent mode is basically just a wrapper for using MCP tools and fairly limited. We're in the middle of building a brand new agent mode which will make Dyad smarter and be capable of working on longer and harder tasks.
- Good UI by default - right now it's possible to create visually pleasing UIs in Dyad (for example, this blog was made with Dyad, hopefully you like the UI :) but it takes precise prompting and a good amount of iterations. We want to make it easy to create beautiful UIs with a single prompt.
- Collaboration support - make it easier to collaborate with others on the same Dyad app via GitHub.
Medium-term goals (Q1)
- Plugins MVP - we've talked a long time about building a plugin system and it's time to finally build one. This is a big undertaking and we expect it to take several months to get this right (don't worry, we'll still be working on other things along the way!). Having a plugin system means that the Dyad community can add new functionality without having everything going through the main Dyad open-source project.
Misc goals
Besides building new features, there's a few other things we'd like to do:
- Revamp the Dyad Pro page - it used to be the main reason people upgraded to Dyad Pro was to use Smart Context, but since then we've added a bunch of exclusive Pro features like Visual Editor and Annotation mode and (most likely) the new Agent mode will be exclusive for Pro.
- Roll out a Pro trial - right now Dyad has a pretty involved onboarding process which requires you to use your own API keys or pay for Dyad Pro upfront. We'd like users to have a more frictionless way to start using Dyad. One challenge with a Pro trial is that there's potential for abuse (e.g. users creating many free trials) so we'll probably need to gate it with a credit card.
- Revamp the Dyad home page - It's not just the Pro page either, most of the home page hasn't really been updated in many months and we want to make it: 1) explain more clearly the benefits of using Dyad compared to other tools and 2) visually pleasing and less cookie-cutter.
- Release new video content - our YouTube channel hasn't gotten much love because we've been busy developing Dyad itself, but we know that providing good educational content helps people use Dyad more effectively and it's a good way to spread the word about Dyad.
- Consistent social media presence - In 2025, the only social media channel we consistently engaged with is our sub-reddit r/dyadbuilders. We sometimes posted on X but that was it. I'd like to have a consistent presence on Reddit, X, LinkedIn and maybe another platform like Threads or TikTok.
